Holiday Open House

'Tis the season to be jolly at Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center (BBTCAC), and we want to invite all of you to join us this Wednesday, November 26th, for our annual Holiday Open House.

Selma Times Journal Story on Jo TaylorBeginning at 10am and lasting until 3pm, the community is invited to join us for sweet and savory treats while Dallas County artist, Jo Taylor, will be in the gallery creating unique fused glass ornaments and pendants. Customers are invited to design their own one-of-a-kind fused glass piece with Taylor, for a fee. Glass work will be fired overnight and ready for pick-up on Friday. Several other artists will be demonstrating their artwork throughout the day.

Kids, Cornbread the Elf is set to return to his mischievous game of hide-and-seek on Wednesday! Each day, kids are invited to come in and find Cornbread and enter their name in a drawing for a basket filled with art supplies! You never know where Cornbread may be - having a tea party with Martha Moorer's hand-painted china to riding Trey Culpepper's welded tractor under the tree. That elf always amazes us with his creative hiding places.

Looking for a new Thanksgiving recipe? Check out Stacy Harris's Oyster Dressing or one of her many other wonderful recipes in her Sustainable Living cookbook (available at BBTCAC).

Don't run out of pecans this year! We just got a shipment in from Priester's Pecans - available in halves or pieces (or pralines, or mini pecan pies)!

So head out to see us this weekend for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday (sorry, but we won't be opening before sunrise)!!!

BBTCAC November Holiday Hours are: Wednesday, November 26 from 10am – 4pm; CLOSED on Thursday, November 27; Black Friday, November 28 from 10am – 4pm; and Small Business Saturday, November 29, from 10am – 2pm.
