Judy
McLean knew she was creative as a young child and pursued some art classes in
college. But being a realist sent her into the field of accounting for a
profession. Judy sees her artwork as an excellent counterbalance between her
serious job as a CPA and her freedom as an artist. She is a member of the
Montgomery Capitol City Guild and has attended numerous workshops to develop
her painting skills.
Judy describes her style as eclectic, but stresses that she must paint
what she knows to get the right feeling of a piece. She likes to paint mostly
in neutrals and has been quite successful in working with varying shades of
white in order to add a contemporary feel to traditional landscapes. As Judy
moves forward with her art, she is finding that she is breaking away from
realism and moving more and more toward contemporary. And she is practicing
cubism to give a new slant to her work.
