Glass and Ceramics
Even
as a young girl, Carol Orler enjoyed arts, crafts, and drawing, but her family
and friends are responsible for this artist’s re-emergence in the art
community. Thanks to her daughter Michelle, Carol re-kindled her love for
ceramics about five years ago. Three years later, her friend Judy Rains
introduced Carol to glass painting. Between these two endeavors, Carol says
that she is finally earning a living “doing what I like to do.”
Carol
has a small company called Angel Pet Urns for which she sculpts a likeness of
the customer’s pet. The process begins with a mold to which clay is added. This
is approximately a three to six week process.
Her
glasswork is unique in itself. She begins with various glass items and
embellishes them with paintings of flowers, plants, fish, and numerous other
designs.
Carol
is a self-taught artist who has tried her hand at many different media. She has
enjoyed painting on canvas and fabric, beading, crocheting, sculpting, and
countless other crafts.
Her work is available in several outlets. The pet urns are found
worldwide on EBay and at her website www.angelpeturns.com.
In addition, she has art at gift shops in Bradenton, Florida, and Cape May, New
Jersey, as well as at Black Belt Treasures.
