Lynn
notes, “The most rewarding aspect of photography is being outdoors. It is so
relaxing – walking and taking photographs – and then, the joy of seeing the
results becoming a piece of art.” She has always loved taking pictures but had
not had a chance to pursue photography as more than a hobby. In the last five
years, her children have grown up and moved out. As a result, Lynn has had time
to learn more about the art of photography. To enhance her skills, she has
studied with the New York Institute of Photography and attended a weekend
workshop conducted by Chip Cooper.
Generally,
Lynn uses a 35-millimeter film camera but sometimes utilizes a digital. After
capturing the images, her photographs are printed by a professional lab for
better quality prints. Her time frame for processing is normally two weeks.
Lynn
has always loved art. In addition to photography, she has experimented with oil
painting but has not advanced her knowledge with formal classes or
training.
Her work is available at the Alabama Rural Heritage Center in
Thomaston, Alabama, as well as at Black Belt Treasures.
