Killian Albritton’s work space is like none other. Having limited space in her home, she ingeniously created a work space in a bathroom. The unused garden tub went out the window and in came a work surface, lighting, sewing machines, and materials. This resourceful elementary school teacher began sewing in her early teens with a machine she purchased with baby-sitting money. Taught in part by her grandmother, Killian expresses her bubbly personality in her creations.

Killian’s use of unusual objects to make useful items reflects her creative flair.  She slices discs of shed deer antlers and drills holes in the center to create buttons for closures on her bags.  She also uses ribbons, trims, and fabrics that she found stored in her grandmother’s attic.  When a small coin purse project went wrong, Killian changed the design slightly to create her drink coozies.  The ability to reinvent her work allows Killian’s creativity to show in many different ways.

Killian’s works are also available at Borden’s, Cullman and Lillypad, Selma.
