Vicky Stoudenmire is a self-taught painter who has been studying
art independently since she was in high school. She has advanced her deep
appreciation for art by immersing herself in workshops, books about technique
and theory, and museums. She studies the brush strokes and painting
techniques of other artists in order to develop her own talent. Painting for
Vicky has always been an escape into the euphoric world of art where all of her
attention can be focused on self-expression.
In her studio at the Dallas
Academy Building,
Vicky paints her portraits in oils. She wants to capture the personality and
essence of the humans and animals whose likenesses she paints. Many of her
paintings are serious, finely detailed portraits with subtle color plays.
But she also expresses herself with portraits that are bold and “in-your-face”
with loose, big brush strokes of vibrant bright colors.
Vicky’s paintings are also available at Andre’s in Newnan, GA, and Patina’s
in Fairhope, and the Southern Hub and Harmony Club in Selma.
