Cam Walker took
her childhood interests in art with her to college where she studied to become
an art teacher. She continued her training by taking art classes at
various levels in order to feed her drive to create as an artist. Cam’s landscapes evolved from photographs she took on
travels and her observations and appreciation of the beauty in the surrounding
area.
Working mainly
in oils, Cam paints in layers to provide a
depth of color and texture. She uses a distinctive matte finish that is
rare among oil paintings and she is quickly identified with this technique. Cam finds that her style is changing over the years,
moving forward into more abstract interpretations of the nature she loves and
picking up the brighter, warmer colors of her surroundings.
Cam’s art
is also available at the Selma Art Guild Gallery, Sacs Gallery, Montgomery, and
You’ve Been Framed, Millbrook.
