Motivated by
the work that he was doing with the Department of Youth Services and elementary
schools throughout the state, Joseph has pursued his talent in writing and
storytelling. He enjoys telling fables, fairy tales, and folk tales, but his
favorites are original stories, which are drawn from his own experiences and
his imagination. Joseph notes, “The most rewarding aspect of this part of what
I do is to know and see children get excited about reading and the library.”
Although
Joseph has been writing for over twelve years, he has only been story telling
for seven. Joseph has not undergone any special training as an author but is
presently pursuing a master’s degree in reading with an emphasis on story
telling.
In addition
to his books and storytelling, Joseph has produced a parents’ radio program and
a children’s television show.
