Joseph admits that his inspiration for his
craft was self-motivated. “I have always liked to wear pins so guess I was
self-inspired…and was trying to find less expensive lapel pins for men.”
Felt material is cut into pieces that are
glued together to make flower shapes, and then are attached to pins or tie
tacks. The finished product is his reward for creating his pins.
Joseph said “I just feel the need to try
and work a little harder to succeed,” as the influence he receives for living
in the Black Belt region.
