Woodwork
Kenneth Mitchell is inspired by taking
nature walks and hunting in the Black Belt.
His creations are made of wood, metal “and a little bit of everything.”
Some of his materials come from scrap yards, hardware stores and from his
nature walks. He says the length of time to create a piece ranges from an hour
to several days.
According to Kenneth, he “just likes making
things with my hands…I see something I like, I take pictures and measurements
and I make it.” He has been actively working with his craft for about five
years.
“I just enjoy making stuff” says Kenneth.
His “stuff” includes birdhouses, carpenter bee traps, walking sticks, DVD
cabinets, shooting houses, and decorative wooden stars.
