When asked what materials are used in the
preparation of her work, Anne replied “What are a writer’s materials? I suppose
that my materials are inspiration, research, interviews, photographs, and know
how. I use the writer’s material to compose my weekly columns, Newbern News
Notes that is published in the Greensboro Watchman. With the assistance of
three graphic designers who formatted the articles and photographs for my book,
Buildings of Greensboro, I self-published my first book.”
Ann writes from material she has
experienced over sixty years of photographs, interviews, from the internet and
shared stories of others. She writes about Hale County, Greensboro, Newbern,
family stories, etc., and says “the ideas are varied and possibilities are
endless”.
