Bullock County
Mixed Media Paintings
From painting a mural of his own squadron in Vietnam as a morale
booster to painting the YMCA logo on the front of a building over thirty years
later, Dennis has contributed to the various communities, towns, and cities
where he has lived through art. Dennis’s philosophy is, “Through my work and
teaching, I want to stimulate an awareness and sensitivity to the physical and
imaginary worlds which touch our senses and imagination to shape our lives.”
Dennis graduated from Antelope Valley Junior College with an
Associate of Arts Degree in art education and received the outstanding art
student of the year award. He furthered his education at the University of
California – Northridge during the following year. During the 1970s, he worked
with children and art in numerous capacities: supervising high school seniors
on a mural, volunteering with elementary schools that did not have art
programs, giving slide presentations to community groups on children’s art work
and murals, giving technical assistance on murals to other schools, supervising
and teaching second and third graders to paint a mural, and many others.
During the years since, Dennis has been commissioned by countless
businesses, cities, and organizations to paint murals, including one in
downtown Union Springs, Alabama.
Dennis’s paintings are mixed media art and reflect his tremendous
experience and talent in art.
