Hand Made Soap
Joanna received some online training and
inspiration while watching Soap Queenvideos. She wanted to
make some homemade gifts so she ordered a soap making kit. She now makes
soaps, coordinating lotions and bath gels. She loves the process of
making these items and enjoys seeing her creations as an end product that she
can say “I did that.”
In describing her process Joanna said that she
orders big blocks of clear and opaque soap which she cuts up, melts down.
To this she adds color and fragrance before pouring into molds. This is
followed by hardening and packaging.
Joanna displays her products at craft shows and
the Rural Heritage Center in Thomaston, Al.
