Woodwork

Stewart is new to his craft as he said he has only been making items out of wood for about six months. He said that he must thank his friend Mr. Jimmy Scruggs who helped him get started making birdhouses and tables. His wood of choice is cedar, which he gathers near Eutaw, Alabama.

The two-legged tables that Stewart makes rest on feet, and the feet wear “flip flops”! While making quite a statement, they were originally designed as bathroom seating.

Stewart’s work can also be found in several stores in Marion, Alabama, besides being featured in Black Belt Treasures.
