Black Belt Treasures is home to a vast number of National
and Black Belt painters, resulting in a wide variety of the types of paintings
that they have for sale in Camden. One reason
for such diverse paintings is that the painters don’t like to recreate a
painting twice because it stifles their creativity. Each painter has a varying
style of painting that separates them from the other painters. The most common type of painting that Black
Belt Treasures houses is oil painting. Other
types of paintings include: water colors, acrylics, oil pastels and drawings.
As mentioned above, the most common type of painting in the
Black Belt region is oil painting. Although
most painters fall under this category they all have different techniques that
set them apart from their fellow painters and make them unique. For example,
Sharron Dozier uses a technique that is one of a kind to her
specific work. Her work is considered to
be realism done in an abstract form. In
contrast to her work, Steven James uses a completely different
style. His work is considered to have a
folk art look to it, making it unique to the other paintings in the store. Another main contrast under the oil painting
category is the tools that the artist uses to create their beautiful
artwork. For example Mrs. Dozier uses a pallet
knife when creating her paintings, while Mr. James uses a brush to create his
wonderful masterpieces.
Aside from the oil painting category, Black Belt Treasures
also features multiples types of painting styles including, water colors,
acrylics, oil pastels and drawings. Roy
Barnett, an oil pastel painter, is one of the main artists that are
featured in our store. Much of his artwork
focuses on landscapes and color scenes of spring and fall. Feel free to explore all the paintings on our
website and learn about each individual artist and their unique techniques.
