Fabrics and Textiles/Quilted Items/Needle Craft
Donna explains her creative process as “I try to have set days and times to work, but, I am the type that works well under pressure.” When describing her materials, she said “I am a pack rat. A lot of material and things you might not think really have a use.” These items are purchased from a variety of locations like thrift store s, yard sales, estate sales…and “junkie places” she admits.
A very crafty grandmother (who had ten children), two talented granddaughters and a woodworking grandson have all been credited as inspirational in her craft. She said that she has been creating “a little of everything” that started with “beautiful mud pies!”
Donna’s enjoyment with creating seems, as she says, to start “with almost nothing and adding that ‘little touch’ that sets it off.” She says “no training, see it, want it, do it!”
