Lillie Bendolph is a talented and passionate quilter who has taken on the mantle of replicating the beautiful and intricate “Pig and The Pen” quilts that were originally designed by her mother, Minnie Sue Coleman. Lillie’s journey in the world of quilting began in December of 2022, and since then, she has dedicated herself to perfecting her craft and creating stunning pieces of artwork that can be cherished for generations to come.
One of the things that inspired Lillie to take up quilting was seeing her mother’s quilt being placed on a postage stamp in 2006. Witnessing her mother’s talent being celebrated in such a meaningful way made Lillie realize the true value and beauty of this art form. From that moment on, she was determined to learn the art of quilting and carry on her mother’s legacy.
Lillie is a firm believer in the power of collaboration and enjoys working with other artists to design new quilts and bring their collective vision to life. For her, quilting is not just a solitary pursuit but a way to connect with others and create something truly special together.
When Lillie is busy quilting, she loves to relax in front of the TV and let her creativity flow. Quilting brings her a sense of peace and fulfillment, knowing that she is creating something that will bring joy to others for years to come. Lillie typically uses cotton in her quilts, but she is always open to trying new materials and techniques to push the boundaries of her art even further.
