Woodworking

Robert's account of his work with wood is interesting, in his own words:

"I grew up in wood working. My dad and his brother were all home builders. I would go to work with my dad at a young age. I would help make the sub floor when I was around the age of 6 or 7 years old. When I got older, I was doing finish work for my uncles until I joined the Air Force. After 4 years in the Air Force, I came home and worked for a paper company for 38 years. When I retired, I began building my own wood shop and filled it with all kinds of wood working tools. I had an old wood lathe my father-in-law bought for me when we first got married in 1963. I got it out and got to playing with it after 50 years. I have enjoyed working with wood all my life. I have built bedroom suites, tables, desks, cabinets, butcher block cabinet tops, and chairs."
