The most enjoyable aspect of creating calligraphy works, according to Sarah, is “Providing the truth of scripture to people that need encouragement…God’s word is living and true…Every aspect of my work is born by my life time in the Black Belt. Faith and beauty are the common denominators for most things Black Belt inspired (my opinion).”
Sarah’s materials include ink, watercolor and calligraphy nibs. Painting with the watercolors, she might complete one or several pieces at a time. Her verses come from scripture and inspiring people such as C.S. Lewis, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Mother Teresa. Later, she uses her calligraphy pens to write a verse on one of the completed watercolors.
