Jeff Shaw uses his photography to capture beautiful images of
nature that he wants to share with others. He grew up hunting and fishing
with his father and developed a love of the outdoors that he portrays in his
work. Jeff started taking pictures as a teenager and worked part-time in
a portrait studio and as an archaeology and aerial photographer. But, he
expresses his love of the outdoors and wildlife where he takes pictures of what
pleases no one but himself.
Jeff uses specially designed lenses to photograph wild animals at
long distances, making sure he does not disturb their natural habitats. He is
fascinated by bobcats and coyotes because they are so difficult to find and
photograph. Jeff uses his images for his calendars which he sells
nationwide to individuals and businesses. He focuses on photographing
regional wild animals (non-captive) in order to highlight his love of
south-eastern species.
Jeff’s photography and calendars are available at his
studio and Backwater Frame & Gallery, Livingston, and will soon be
available over the internet.
