Fictional
Writings
Donna-Marie
L. Crocker began writing fiction when she was eleven years old, but did not
become published until she was in her late thirties. An avid reader who often
rereads classical literature, she became an elementary school teacher in order
to pass her love of reading and writing on to others. She holds a BS degree
from Troy University
and a MS degree from Auburn
University, both in Early
Childhood Education.
Inspired by
her life in a tiny southern town, Donna-Marie captures the disappearing
pastimes of dying generations. Based on real-life experiences and tall-tales
told by her family members, her writings are completely fictional. Her
descriptive narratives are designed to transport the reader both in time and
place, while sparking memories of universal appeal. She is currently writing
two more sequences of short stories.
Donna-Marie’s
fiction can also be found at Crocker’s Grocery, Forest Home, The Pineapple,
Greenville, Priester’s Pecans, Fort Deposit, Just Julies Coffee Shop,
Greenville, and The Smokehouse, Greenville. She is also a contributing writer
for theSport’s
Scene, Greenville.
