Woodwork

Epp grew up in Marion Junction, Alabama where he was raised by his father, a skilled furniture maker and carpenter.

Epp trained bird dogs for over fifty years, and was inducted into the Field Trial Hall of Fame. After retiring from field trials in 1986, he worked for the Rollins family on their Florida Yeehaw Plantation training dogs for fifteen years.

Working on Yeehaw Plantation motivated Epp to follow his father’s wood craft. He was inspired by the beauty of the wood that surrounded him every day. In the beginning, he worked mostly with wood that was blown down by storms. Epp uses his father’s tools, which has brought satisfaction and a real connection to his father.
