When
Colette returned from her trip to Italy, she wanted a good record of the
vacation. What developed was her first book A Redneck Goes to Rome. This
hilarious and inspiring writing is about her, the inexperienced traveler.
Colette has also written another book entitled A Redneck in the Black
Hills, which is equally entertaining.
Colette
Johnson is a retired piano teacher and organist at the First United Methodist
Church in Jackson, Alabama. She lives in rural Clarke County with her husband
Bill Chivers. She has been blessed with four sons, four daughters-in-law, and
seven grandchildren. Colette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in music from
Mississippi State University. Her hobbies include dancing, roller-skating,
horseback riding, baking, play the guitar, and reading.
In
addition to the historical research that she does for her books, Colette says
that she also enjoy traveling, meeting people, and writing about them. She has
been writing for four years.
