20th Anniversary Celebration and Year of Programming – Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center
Thursday, October 2, 2025, kicked of a year of programming celebrating BBTCAC's 20th Anniversary. This special event honored two decades of creativity, community, and cultural heritage across Alabama’s Black Belt region with a celebratory program recognizing individuals who have shaped BBTCAC’s journey and the unveiling of a commemorative portrait by artist Johnna Bush, interpreting the theme: “Rooted in Traditions … Cultivating the Arts of Tomorrow.

January 2026 @ BBTCAC | Professional Development Workshop for Teaching Artists: Becoming a BBTCAC teaching artist, tips and guidelines for teaching a workshop in schools and in your community. Helping you develop projects for that purpose.
January 2026 @ BBTCAC | Professional Development Workshop for Artists: Creative Entrepreneurs & the Business of Art. Getting a business license, applying to art festivals, photographing your art, social media marketing, monetizing their art, etc.
February 2026 | Building Collaborative Partnerships @ TBA | learn to make the most of community partners
April 2026 | Connecting Black Belt Place to the Arts @ TBA | Plein Air painting workshops across the Black Belt
May-June 2026 | Community Building/Creative Placemaking through Arts | Video Chats recorded and shared with Alabama Muralists discussing tips of the trade, community impact, and pride of place through murals.
