“Art has always been a part of my life. Life inspires me. Years of self-training.”These comments were from Jaytilya in describing her creative nature. The materials used in the creation of her art includes acrylic and oil paints, canvas, art paper, watercolor pencils, pens, pencils and glitter. Jaytilya stated that she has been creatively active since she was four years old.Her accomplishments, as well as her rewards, began with a 3rd place award when she was in the 3rd grade. She was entered in a farm/city art contest for the State of Alabama. Her prize was a $25 savings bond and her art was on a calendar for the next year. She won an art award in the 5th grade plus a 1st place award for the school. Sadly, she said “But because my mom and dad moved around all the time my rewards were lost.”The Folk Art that Jaytilya brought to the BBTCAC Gallery shows a very special talent that was not lost anywhere along her life journey
