Mary Kathrine (Kathy) Jones, an artist from Evergreen, Alabama, has spent her life immersed in the world of art. A graduate of Evergreen High School and Jefferson Davis Junior College, where she studied art appreciation, Mary began her artistic journey in high school with pencil sketches before experimenting with pastel chalk and colored pencils. After taking a break to focus on work and raising her family, she returned to her passion, exploring watercolor and acrylic painting.

Kathy's art evolved as she started creating pet memorial Christmas ornaments and expanded to pet portraits and other custom works. In 2022, she embraced a new challenge when she applied for an art teaching position at a local school, despite having no formal teaching experience. Her life experiences, however, spoke volumes, and she was welcomed into the classroom. In her teaching, she instills the belief that challenges are opportunities for growth, teaching her students that "I can't" is not an option. With each challenge, Mary continues to learn, grow, and refine her craft.
