Vine & Branch Creations

Andrew and Etta McCall are self-taught basket weavers and furniture makers. They say they are following a divine guidance by creating items using methods taught to them by God. The McCall’s have been making their artwork for more than twenty-five years. Their children have all been involved in the business over the years and Andrew and Etta feel that this has been an important part of their family values.

The McCall’s use all recycled or naturally harvested materials. The heart pine lumber comes from old houses that are being torn down and the vines are collected from the woods. They mix the pine and vines to create unique tables and chairs that are original, and no two are alike. Wisteria, grape, and some kudzu vines are twisted together by hand to make baskets and furniture that reflect the McCall’s respect for and enjoyment of nature.

The McCall’s’ works are also available at their shop Vines and Branches, Fort Deposit, John Campbell Folk Art School in Brasstown, NC, craft shows, and major department stores.
