Suzanne Jensen was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and raised in Indianapolis. Early on, her artistic talents were encouraged by her parents and teachers, who recognized her ability as a painter. As an undergraduate at Indiana State University, she began her first serious explorations in the visual arts working mostly in painting and drawing. Then she discovered the ceramics studio. It was here that her skills and talents were most focused and challenged. In 1983, she graduated Indiana State with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with ceramics as her focus area. She went on the study ceramics at Tulane University, receiving her Master of Fine Arts in 1985. She taught in the art department at Auburn University Montgomery. Her works have been included in numerous national and regional exhibitions, and she has received many awards for her efforts. Ms. Jensen also has work on display in several galleries, most located in the South.
