Watercolors
Lynda
Ray was always painting and drawing as a child. She drew on every surface
available, including walls and books, and consequently was sometimes in
trouble. Fortunately, her parents recognized her talent and Lynda began
taking private lessons at the age of ten. She majored in art education at David
Lipscomb University and also studied at Abilene Christian University. She
teaches private art lessons and does consignment painting.
Lynda
uses oils, watercolors, pencil, and pen and ink to create artwork that is a
realistic representation of living objects. She loves to capture details and
the intricate play of light on color. Her portfolio contains paintings of
landscapes, animals, and portraits. Lynda’s current love is painting informal
watercolor portraits of children at play. She is fascinated by the bright
colors of the sunset and tends to choose blues, purples, and pinks for her
pallet.
Lynda’s art is also available at Twin Rivers Art Council Shows, and
the Grand Gallery in Demopolis.
