Youth Visual Arts Classes

Currently, After School Art classes are offered each Tuesday for grades K-2, and each Thursday for students in grades 3-6. Petite Picasso’s (ages 3-6) meet once a month, and offer an excellent introduction to the arts, hand-eye coordination, and basic arts skills. A variety of specialized classes is offered during school breaks and holidays, including Spring Break Art Camp, Summer Art Camp, and holiday-themed classes and workshops. Adult Visual Arts Classes

Adult Art Classes and workshops are offered throughout the year in a variety of culturally significant and skill building mediums. Current and past offerings include acrylic, oil, and watercolor painting, printmaking, basket making, chair caning, stained glass, mosaic jewelry, quilling, quilting, sewing, jewelry making, oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, pottery, sculpture, and more. Regular ArtEscape Pottery and Painting classes are offered the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 6-9 pm. Please visit our Facebook page for current classes and offerings.

ADULT ART CLASSES at Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center:

Hand Quilting with Mary Margaret Pettway
3rd Friday of EVERY MONTH
10:00am - 1:00pm

2nd Generation Gee's Bend Quilter - Mary Margaret Pettway - will be teaching Hand Quilting on the 3rd Friday of each month at Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center. Pre-Registration is Required!!!

Learn the art of hand quilting from this talented, funny, master quilter in the same style her family and friends have been using for generations. All materials are included in the cost of the class - but students are encouraged to bring material scraps (cotton, denim, and sturdy materials work best) for sharing.
$45 ($35 class fee + $10 materials) - is due at registration.
All materials will be provided.
This class is limited to the first eight (8) people who register, so please get reserve your spot soon.
In addition to these monthly classes at BBTCAC - Mary Margaret is available for demonstrations and private workshops. Call for details.
