Jeanann has always loved crafting and once
“I made a quilt I was hooked”. Her maternal grandmother taught her to sew and
inspired her, as did/does her mother, Jean Murphy, another favorite BBTCAC
fiber artist. She describes herself as a “self-taught quilter” who has been
making quilts for about eight years.
Jeanann uses 100% cotton fabrics, and
cotton and cotton/poly blend batting that is purchased locally and on line
shops. In her home studio, where she works “all times of the day”, her quilts
are produced “from a couple of days to several months.” She uses a combination
of ideas from old historical patterns, nature, architecture and tiling in the
construction of her quilts.
