“To give
pleasure to others, especially my family,” Anita says is the most enjoyable
facet of being an artist. She has forever been interested in any type of art
and craft and has enjoyed ceramics and countless forms of needlework, such as
French hand sewing, embroidery, tatting, knitting, and smocking. Anita’s true
motivation to become a serious painter occurred when her grandson was born with
a severe heart condition. Art lessons began six years ago, and the painting
that has resulted has given her peace in dealing with that situation.
Anita works
with watercolors, oils, and acrylics, which she purchases from an assortment of
art supply stores. Her paintings are usually inspired by photos that she or her
family takes. As with much art work, the time taken to achieve the finished
product is determined by the subject and the medium.
Anita’s
artistic talent has been encouraged by her mother and grandmother, who were
very creative people. Furthermore, she has trained with artists Kathy Gibian,
Joanna Nichols, and Vicky Stoudenmire.
At this
time, Anita’s paintings are only available through Black Belt Treasures.
