Reproductions of Painting

William Harris’s vivid life has formed a backdrop of experiences for his artwork. With only one year of art classes, he took his painting hobby most seriously and began selling his art in the late 1950s. For most of ninety-six years, William used water color, oil, and acrylic paints to capture pictures of the world as it changed around him.

An avid turkey hunter, William’s turkey portraits have been sold by the Wild Turkey Federation to raise money for the organization. His realistic painting technique also appears in William’s portrayals of romantic, Old South nostalgia. His heirs are now preserving William’s paintings by issuing reproduction prints. Printed by the Coleson Printing Company on acid-free, long-life paper, the prints are framed in wooden frames that mimic the barn wood frames that William made to frame his original art work.
