Quilting
More than thirty years ago, the age-old craft of quilting was
passed on to the next generation in Barbara Hollingsworth’s family. Barbara’s
grandmother and mother were both quilters, and they are from whom she learned
this art form.
Using cotton fabric, she painstakingly sews the many small
stitches that it takes for a quilt to become a reality. Sometimes, Barbara
works on one quilt for months at a time before seeing the design realized as a
finished quilt.
Barbara also enjoys other types of needle work, such as
cross-stitching and knitting. Her greatest reward in this work is seeing pieces
of fabric come together as quilts.
Presently, her work
is only available at Black Belt Treasures.
